What ForgeX does, what it does not do, and where the limits are. If the answer to something is no, it says no.
No card, no trial clock. The free plan runs one replay session at a time and comes with six months of history on MNQ, NQ and every forex pair, twenty five journal entries and the core stats.
That is enough to run a real test of a strategy and see how the backtester handles before spending anything.
An account and a browser. Nothing to install, and no broker needed to begin, because the backtester runs on our own historical data.
A broker connection is optional. It exists so live trades can land in the same journal as the practice ones.
No. ForgeX is for practice and for keeping a record. A replay session never touches a live market and no money moves.
A connected broker account is read only. ForgeX imports what already happened so it can be journalled. It has no ability to place or close a trade.
No. ForgeX is software for practice and for keeping a record. It runs no evaluations for funding and hands out no funded accounts. No money is paid from a firm's capital, because ForgeX holds no money at all.
What it does is let a trader rehearse a prop firm's evaluation rules against real history, for the price of the subscription, long before a paid attempt is on the line. Passing them becomes practice instead of a gamble.
There is no affiliation with any prop firm, and ForgeX is not a rebrand of one.
A forge is where metal is worked under heat and pressure until it holds. That is what the platform does to a trading strategy: run it against real history, on the real spread, until what is left is something that stands up.
The name is ForgeX, spelled with a g. Forex, the foreign exchange market, is a different word for a different thing. ForgeX is a backtesting and replay platform, and forex is only one of the markets it can replay, alongside futures.
No. ForgeX Trading is an independent product at forgextrading.com, built and run by its founder, Advay. It is its own company and shares no ownership or history with any other trading business that happens to use a close spelling.
The only official ForgeX is forgextrading.com. It is backtesting and practice software, and it has never been a prop firm or sold funded accounts.
One minute bars across 66 instruments. Forex and CFDs (indices, metals) go back to 2008, and the CME index and metals futures with their micros run from 2019. That covers forex majors and crosses, oil and the larger crypto pairs too.
Every series gets swept for impossible prices before it is served, and a session can only open on a date with clean data behind it.
Yes. Every fill pays the bid to ask spread that was really quoted for that minute. No flat estimate, no rounded average.
This is one of the more valuable things ForgeX does. A strategy that only survives with costs switched off falls over here, early and for free.
The replay steps through one minute bars. Inside a single minute, the order that the high and the low arrived in is not shown.
One minute is the right resolution for discretionary trading, where decisions are made on bars rather than on individual ticks. Scalping methods that hinge on movement inside the minute need tick data, and that is worth knowing up front.
Not for anything done inside ForgeX. Every replay trade records itself with the entry, the exit, the numbers and a picture of the chart at both moments.
Trades from a connected broker arrive the same way and sit in the same journal.
The supported list is growing, and the connect page always shows what is live right now. Worth a look before planning around a particular broker.
Statement import covers everything else. Upload a broker statement and the trades land in the journal whatever the broker.
Yes. The journal exports, and those trades belong to whoever made them. No part of the pricing depends on locking a record inside the platform.
No. This is practice rather than an evaluation, and no funding sits at the end of it. ForgeX is not a prop firm and has no arrangement with any.
The value is in meeting the rules before an entry fee is on the line. Trailing drawdown catches out more people than anything else in a challenge, and learning how it moves costs nothing here.
The practice challenge follows the shape these rules usually take. Firms revise their own terms often, so no single firm is copied exactly.
Always read the terms of the challenge being paid for. What ForgeX gives is the experience of trading under a limit that moves underneath a position, which is the part that takes practice.
Yes. No minimum term and no phone call. Cancelling stops the next payment, and the plan stays active until the paid period ends.
The trades stay. The free plan holds twenty five journal entries, so anything above that becomes read only.
Nothing gets deleted for stopping a subscription.
Replay any market from any date and find out whether the thing you believe about your trading is true.
