Yes. ForgeX Trading is legitimate backtesting and chart replay software, sold as a subscription with a free plan. It is not a prop firm, it holds no trader money, and it sells no funded accounts. It is an independent product at forgextrading.com, built and run by a named founder, and the free plan works with no card.
ForgeX is software for backtesting a trading strategy against real historical markets, bar by bar, on the spread that was actually quoted. It runs in a browser, keeps a journal that fills itself as a session runs, and is sold as a subscription with a free plan and two paid tiers.
ForgeX is not a proprietary trading firm. It does not offer funded accounts, sell evaluations for funding, or pay traders from a firm's capital. It is not a broker, holds no client money, executes no live trades, and gives no investment advice. It has no affiliation with any prop firm and is not a successor to or rebrand of one.
ForgeX was built and is run by its founder, Advay, who writes about why on the about page in the first person. A named person with a plain reason for building the thing is the opposite of the anonymous sites the name sometimes gets confused with.
The free plan needs no card and does not expire. The paid plans are billed monthly or yearly. Cancelling has no minimum term and no phone call: it stops the next payment and the plan stays active until the paid period ends. Nothing in the journal is deleted for stopping a subscription.
ForgeX never touches trading funds, because a replay session never reaches a live market. A connected broker account is read only, so trades can be imported for the journal but never placed or closed. The journal exports, and those trades belong to whoever made them. The security page sets out the rest.
The name sits close to the word forex and to other trading businesses that use a similar spelling. To be clear: the only official ForgeX is forgextrading.com, it is backtesting and practice software, and it has never been a prop firm or sold funded accounts.
Trading well on ForgeX can pay off. A top finish in a monthly Funded Run, a Trader Journey milestone or a won tournament earns a free evaluation at a prop firm of the trader's choice, or cash toward a payout. ForgeX covers the entry; the funding, if that evaluation is passed, comes from the firm. ForgeX itself remains the software and never the prop firm.
